Coinciding with Bicycle Day in the European Mobility Week, more than 40,000 cyclists today have been controlled by the totems installed by the City Council at the end of July. 40,000 bicycles have passed through the control points of the Avenida de la Comunitat Valenciana, the Avenida de Europa with the street Ibiza, or the Mediterranean near Ametlla de Mar. Totems that only measure cyclist traffic.
The number is not the total number of unique users of bicycles since it is what they have counted these three control points and in the future will be incorporated more into the network of bicycle lanes and urban bicycle lanes of Benidorm, infrastructure that today reaches 90 km.
It is a very positive data for health, is good for sustainability and is good for the mobility of the city.
