The Assembly Hall of the City of Benidorm hosted this afternoon the presentation of Emilio del Rio's new book, 'Latin Lovers'.
In a humorous tone and with the complicity of the audience, Emilio del Río has made a claim in defence of the legacy of classical culture, especially Latin, which, as the book's cover says, is "The language we speak". By means of videos and photographs of the most varied subjects, they have served the writer to reflect on the permanent nexus that modernity has with classical culture.
The book 'Latin Lovers' helps us to understand better the world in which we live and, also to communicate better, by shedding light on our roots and our language. The volume is born as a declaration of love for classical culture, answering questions such as Where does the expression 'become Swedish' come from? or Did you know that pig and silk are the same word? A humorous work to talk about something transcendent.
